PVA Water Soluble Fibers
The water soluble fibers distributed by F.lli Citterio S.p.A. represent the most technological advanced textile products available as staple fibers, tops, spun yarns and filament yarns in a range of solubility in hot water ranging from 20°C to 90°C.
Technical characteristics:
- Chemical and physical stability all along the textile process (spinning, weaving and finishing).
- High tenacity and modulus of the spun yarns and the fabrics blended or twisted with such fibers.
- Resistance to the steam setting process.
- Complete dissolution in hot water and full elimination from yarns and/fabrics made with them.

Applications of Kuralon K-II®
The most successful applications of KURALON K-II water soluble fibers concern:
- The spinning of fine wool yarns (from Nm 1/80 to Nm1/150) using coarser wool fibers than those normally needed to get fine count yarns;
- The weaving of “Natural Stretching” fabrics without using elastomeric filament yarns;
- The weaving of single end yarns of noble fibers otherwise difficult to be processed;
- The knitting of warm, light and soft fabrics for fashion using less wool and noble fibers thus saving expensive raw materials;
- The knitting of “devoré” fabrics;
- The weaving of natural and artificial fabrics to achieve better wearability and breathability.
Kuralon K-II® technical assistence
is available on demand based on the customer products and production process.
Properties
Easy solubility | Lower utilization cost | Smaller environmental impact |
---|---|---|
MINTVAL is easier to be dissolved in hot water than the conventional PVA spun yarns | MINTVAL’s fineness makes it possible the use of lower percentages of it, thus reducing the cost per km of the yarns with which it’s twisted to | The disposal of lower quantities of Mintval reduces the environmental impact and the treatment costs of the flue waters |
